A pedicure is a treatment for your feet that removes dead skin, softens hard skin and shapes and paints your toenails.

A regular pedicure can help support the health and look of your feet. Pedicures can also be soothing and relaxing, especially when combined with other treatments.

A traditional pedicure begins with removing any old nail polish. Next you’ll be asked to place your feel into a foot bath or spa. Your feet are soaked and the skin softened in warm, scented water. The therapist will gently scrub away any dirt or old skin once it has softened up. After that, your therapist will also remove your cuticles and cut and shape your toenails.

Creams and aromatherapy oils are massaged into your feet to refresh and soften the skin. Often therapists will also massage your lower legs and foot. At the end, a polish of your choice will be applied.

Your feet should end up smooth and moisturised, and your toes perfectly shaped and polished – a pedicure is basically a manicure for the feet.

Tip: Don’t forget to bring with yourself a pair of open toe shoes as your polish will need time to dry.
